A Combination Jewelry and Color Challenge
This week, I combined my challenges. The earrings themselves are for the Year of Jewelry project, but the colors are from the Color Combo Challenge (CCC on facebook).Normally, I try to make projects from one of the books that I'm reading, but I thought it was better to try not to combined too many things.
Actually - there is a third facet to this project. It is part of an earring swap - but I don't want to say too much about that part just in case my swap partner also reads my blog.
Blooming Brights Silver Crystal Bead Earrings
The name for this palette is blooming brights. The colors are a combination of dark and light purples, yellow, cobalt blue and salmon.
I made a frame using the technique I learned in The Earring Style Book. It is a smaller frame than the projects in the book. It is made with 18g wire. The beads are coiled on the frame using 24g wire. The ear wires are made with 20g sterling silver wire and matching crystals.
I'm very happy with the way these earrings turned out. I hope my swap partner enjoys them!
Sweet earrings Lisa, I love the inspirational photo too what stunning colours.
ReplyDeleteI have my Jubilee necklace on the blog but I will be doing another giveaway at the end of the month.
Jackie
Thanks Jackie. I love to stop by and look at your work too!
DeleteThose turned out really nice. Nice color combo, even muted. I often have trouble matching colors together. I think I'll start paying more attention to nature.
ReplyDeleteOr you could join the color combo challenge group on facebook. They have a fantastic new palette every week. http://www.facebook.com/groups/colorcombochallenge/
DeleteI am the incredibly lucky and privileged owner of these beautiful earrings! The photos do not show how truly beautiful they are. I am so in awe of your talent Lisa and have worn these many times already and they always get comments :) Thank you so much again for giving them to me, I am truly grateful
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Gayle from Oz xx
