Ases Style Mandala Pendant

I've still been playing with Miguel Ases style bead weaving.  Here's a mandala style pendant I made last week.

Since I often have trouble deciding on colors, I found my inspiration from the weekly color palette at the
Color Combo Challenge group on Facebook.

Every week members vote on one color palette from among 3 or 4 posted and try to make something using at least 3 colors from the palette.  There's no obligation to keep up with it weekly, so you can drop in and participate when ever the mood strikes you.

The group uses palettes from the design seeds website.  If you have difficulty with color like I do (or even if you don't) - I'm sure you'll find plenty of inspiration there.  I thought the colors in this palette were an unexpected combination.

I honestly didn't like the pendant when I first made it, but the more it hangs around, the more I've grown to like it.

The brick stitch weaving is getting a little easier each time I make a new piece.  I liked using the larger crystal beads in the center.  The thread tension is still challenging - and I didn't hide my knots as well as I could - but I consider this a practice piece so I'm not as fanatical about it as I would be a piece that I'm going to sell.
